It all started rather innocently.
Ross had taken his wife and three boys to the Wichita zoo. On leaving the zoo, they were given a
wildlife poster entitled The American Prairie. Pictured on this poster was a bison looking humbly at the
viewer.
It was such a nice print, they decided to get it framed. And although it was a handsome picture, the
bison didn't quite fit in with the rest of the living room. But he did look quite nice hanging in the shop.
You might not know that neither Ross nor Julie (his wife) are originally from Kansas. But since they were
setting up shop here, they decided they would embrace the area. They already had the bison and he
looked fine on the wall, and seemed a good representative of Kansas, so the bison stayed and was later
joined by other pictures.
A local artist, Matthew Richter, has designed RC's vans and came up with the latest design. So I guess
that you can say that the Bison is a mascot for RC.
He represents:
B Be comfortable, in any weather -- Just like it says on the van, here at RC, our purpose is to keep
you comfortable no matter if it's in the heat of summer, or the frigid air of winter. With the present
technology available, there's no reason for you not to be comfortable.
I Innovative Equipment -- Although the bison is an animal, he did have the right equipment for himself
and for the American Indians. They were able to create multiple items from the bison. Our equipment
changes with consumers needs. Fuel efficiency is an important need for this time.
S Satisfied Customers -- Think back and remember who were the customers of the American Bison.
It was the American Indians. They were comfortable because of the bison providing them with many of
the things they needed. RC can provide you with what you need to have comfort.
O Ownership -- Own your comfort. There are many choices out there. We can provide you with the
information and technical explanations, then it's your choice. The bison has been a symbol representing
freedom, and like him, we make sure you choose what equipment goes in your home or business.
N Networking -- The bison existed in a herd atmosphere. They had different functions within the herd
and surely that means there was networking going on. Here at RC, we function together with different
jobs and talents. Sheet metal may network with technical support to get just the right system the
customer needs and wants.

A buffalo can also refer to a water buffalo and
describes a larger category of wild oxen. Bison
